It can be painful to watch the news or open the mail these days. Too many reminders that the economy is in the dumps, and that your retirement savings are half what they were a few months ago. Nearly everyone is doing some belt-tightening. Typically, alcohol sales rise during a recession. Still, you may be looking for ways to cut corners on your wine purchases. That’s particularly true as we approach the holiday entertaining season. I’ve looked back over my tasting notes for the past several months to find well-made wines selling for $12 or less.
